The Town of Egremont has developed a comprehensive all-hazard emergency management plan for the Town. The purpose of the plan is to facilitate delivery of local, adjacent community, and state resources in the event of a disaster. As no single town has the resources to respond to a major incident, the plan uses mutual aid agreements with surrounding jurisdictions and the state to provide assistance to the Town.

The Town's Emergency Management Team encourages all residents to be prepared for weather events that affect us here in the Berkshires - from severe thunderstorms to winter snows. The information and links provided on this page will help you better prepare yourself and your family for these events.

If you or someone you know would like to be checked on in an emergency such as severe weather events or power outages, please let us know! You may call or email the Town Hall or the Police Department and we would be happy to check in with you if the need arises.

It is important to note that during a power outage, National Grid may not be aware of your individual situation. Make sure they are aware of your loss of power by calling them at 800-322-3223. Also, please call the Egremont Police Department so they are aware of possible downed power lines, etc. They may be reached at 413-528-2160.

If you have any questions about preparedness, please send an email to: wbrinker@egremont-ma.gov or call us and we will be happy to answer them.
