Overview

The Alford Egremont Cultural Council is part of a network of 329 Local Cultural Councils (LCC) serving all 351 cities and towns in the Commonwealth. The LCC Program is the largest grassroots cultural funding network in the nation, supporting thousands of community-based projects in the arts, sciences, and humanities every year. The state legislature provides an annual appropriation to the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency that allocates funds to each community.

Council Opens Gant Award Process for FY24 Awards

On September 1, 2023, the Alford-Egremont Local Cultural Council (LCC), in partnership with the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC), began accepting applications for grant funding that supports the development, maintenance, and growth of cultural programming that benefits the local Alford-Egremont community.

Your local council is particularly interested in encouraging applications from Alford-Egremont artists, crafters, writers, teachers, historians, and others who would like to share their areas of expertise in the form of performances, classes, and events with community members of all ages at local venues.

The application process is simple and easy to navigate for first-time applicants. And your Local Cultural Council committee is happy to answer any questions. Please visit the Application Process at the Mass Cultural Council to learn about the process to apply and begin your application:

Alford-Egremont Local Cultural Council Awards FY 2023 Grants 

James Warwick and Ellen Maggio, cochairpersons of the Alford-Egremont Cultural Council, announced the approval of 30 grants to a diverse cross-section of local individuals and organizations for cultural programs that benefit residents of Alford and Egremont. Find the list of current recipients and their grant awards here.

The Alford-Egremont Cultural Council will seek applications again in fall 2023.
